It took almost a year to write the first four episodes, build the sets & props from 95% reused and recycled materials, locate the wonderful talent, film the episodes, edit in Final Cut and author the DVD. On the tech side, all I knew a year ago was how to press the record button on the new camera. This hands-on approach of learning all the different technical aspects of crafting and producing a program has given me a new found respect for the process.
The Puppet Cell Phone Car Crash. The inspiration for this safety message came from watching a friend's 18 month old son play in one of those big plastic toy cars. He got in the car and immediately put his hand to his ear and started driving. "Hello, hello."! It has been said that children learn from everything that is put in front of them and it made me think that some progress could be made in this area. If I can get just one parent to have a second thought about driving while talking/texting on a cell phone, I'll be a happy camper.
